Annecy is a mountain resort set in an ideal location in the Alps.  With its exceptional landscape of mountains surrounding the stunning lake Annecy, it's a magnet for tourists from all over the world.  Annecy is known as the Venice of France and, with its network of cobblestone alleys, each lined with small cafes, boutiques and art galleries, Annecy is a town to be discovered and enjoyed.

  There is a wealth of historical sites including the castle and old prison, and many old buildings dating back to the 16th Century.

Animation Festival - April

Annecy is famous for its Animation Festival, to which many international film makers attend and screen their films.

The Grand Firework Display - August

This is a spectacle not to be missed!  Fireworks, music, fountains and laser displays that last all evening and to which hundreds of lake dwellers turn up in their boats to watch alongside the audience on the lake front.

Return of the Alpine animals - October

The farmers in the surrounding villages bring their animals down from the moutains and celebrate the end of summer with a tour of the town, during which many Annecian crafts-people set up stalls and display their local produce.  Music and dancing to entertain the visitors makes this a fun day out for everyone.
